Project Manager

 

Colin Burke Electrical Ltd. has been involved in the electrical trade for over 20 years, where we have been specialising predominantly in commercial and industrial projects. Due to our continued expansion, we are seeking to recruit a Project Manager to join our growing team.

 

Responsibilities of the role will include:

 

·         Attend project start up meetings and become familiar with all details and specifications of the project

·         Provide input on technical submittals as required

·         Establish performance and delivery criteria, ensuring that client requirements are being met

·         Planning of all resources including labour, materials, and sub-contractors

·         Manage and drive the team to meet all project requirements and deadlines

·         Identify and track project risks

·         Raise and manage RFI’s and manage site labour tracker

·         Progress report to be maintained weekly; report on and manage any changes/variations

·         Develop and administer quality control provisions; liaise on project cost estimating and value engineering, as appropriate

·         Liaise with the Management / Commercial / Procurement team to ensure contracts, purchase orders, payment certs and change orders are issued in accordance with company policies

·         Quality focus on site and implement ‘Right First Time’ measures

·         Liaison with main contractors and the client-based site team

·         Coordination and delivery of project plant and equipment

·         Ensure adequate materials are always available to complete the project

·         Ensure processing of materials / equipment requisitions and the generation of purchase orders/ delivery to site is done in a timely manner

·         Develop a constructible and detailed schedule with the project planner

·         Update program gains/losses to the Construction Manager weekly

·         Assist the Construction Manager in developing the commission plan

·         Implement the commission plan on site

·         Generate biweekly/monthly snag list and improvements

·         Identify and track project risks

 

Education & Skills Required:

 

·         Trade qualified and/ or an Engineering background

·         5 years post qualification experience in Project Management

·         Proven record of coordinating and managing medium / large electrical installation projects

·         Good technical knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems

·         Excellent IT skills
